CHAPTER 1 PREM AND NILA, BOTH WERE FUMING WITH ANGER!

The planet earth was biding goodbye to its ecstatic delightful day that was rolling down into its blissful night gleefully smiling with a reddish tinge on her cheeks.

The golden globe was ready to take its blissful dip drowning itself into the fathomless ocean, after its laborious task of lighting the eastern face of the earth.

the sun will have a nice bath and will enter into a deep slumber on the ocean bed till morning, as the rotating earth will bring its western side, to face the rising sun, while the rolling waves will rock and sing lullabies to its eastern face!

But on that sultry evening, at Chennai, our hero Prem was fuming and growling relentlessly, in anger turning red on his face,

over his lover Nila’s remarks calling him a ‘useless ass!’ Though it was true to an extent!

He was roaring like a lion, trying to kick start his bike, bubbling in the heat of his anger grumbling,

‘She must be having tonnes and tonnes of cholesterol in her blood, to spit out those venomous words through her lips...

‘Though her rosy lips are full and beautiful, those words look ugly!!!’ he thought.

It looked as if the group of twinkling stars, and the full-faced full moon, all went behind the broken clouds to save themselves from the wrath of that well-built human of six feet+some inches.

They were peeping through the veils of the tattered clouds, while Nila shouted and ran towards Prem who was ruthlessly kicking his age-old vehicle which was not cooperating with his kick starts.

“Hi! Prem don’t go, please stay where you are! Is it correct to abandon your Nila like a street dog on this busy bazaar road?!”

But he just threw an angry stare at her and tried to run away in his roaring bike after blabbering some angry words at her.

“Hi, Queen!!! You are the princess of the sea, and descendent of the royal family Julius Caesar, but I am a useless vagabond roaming the streets like a street dog, I am the one who needs to be bitten by the orphaned sea shore dogs!”

In response, she scurried across the street, and just turned off the ignition key from the roaring bike, and closed his fingers tightly inside her nimble fingers, like a lotus flower encircling a whirring bee,

Though knowing it might bite her, or fly away if she opened her fingers.

“My dear little babe! Your rage like that of a tropical storm is not justifiable; I didn’t call you ‘useless!’ It was the name christened by your family!”

“Yea! I accept wholeheartedly, I am a nomadic street dog, a fool, an idiot, a stupid fellow, a good for nothing donkey, a useless ass, odorless benzoin, an old bandicoot, and what not?

You can add whatever you want after searching Wikipedia!”

“Hi! Hi, please slide down to the earth, from your hyper pressure status, you are calling yourself very decently while there are still thousands of words in the Tamil vocabulary to call you by typical names.

Shall I give you some more in Madras pasha like mollamari, mudichethukki, kasmaalam,”

She stopped and laughed which brought more effervescence in Prem’s eyes,

While she tried all her best to sprinkle some icy cold water over it through her lovely solemn looks.

“Prem, you know very well who I am? What I am? Why I am shadowing you like a mad dog in love, my dear pujju! Come down from your excited state!

I scolded you just to resurrect you from your loneliness and depression. I want to be an accelerator, stimulator, and catalyst in your life!

You have everything in you, all multi-faceted versatile talents...

The liveliness of the youth, the wrath of a storm with bubbling anger, and especially your extreme love towards all living things, along with your lovely looks, and hidden titanic power in you,

But you are sitting in the darkness, when are you going to quit that mighty darkness... inside you?

“M... m... tomorrow morning when the sun rises in the east, I will quit all my darkness!” Saying those words, he tried to pull off his fingers from her imprisoned lotus fingers. But the fingers did not budge...

‘Maybe she was very strong, or his pulling was very weak and not a wholehearted one, or maybe his heart still wanted his fingers to be imprisoned inside her palms like a sleeping child...!!!’

“Please leave me, Nila, I want to go back to my seashore; my only abode, I want to see my orphaned beach dogs, feed them, and make my body and soul rest on the laps of the sea waves, and inhale the priceless free air from the seashore, they are my only refuge to give back my peace.”

“Why are you so angry with me, my dear darling, don’t you know how much I love you, how much pain this princess took to sieve you from thousands of people who followed me with love proposals, like sieving from millions of sand particles on the seashore... Yes...

As you say I live in a royal palace, like a princess; I travel in a variety of luxury cars, jumbo jets, ships, cruises, etc., but always my preference will be to hop on to your age-old bike and hug you from behind; and travel at a breakneck speed...as if we are on a roller coaster ride.!”

“No, my dear sweet Heart, our love is not in resonance with our heartbeats,

‘You and I are on parallel lines!
You are at the peak like a peacock!
and I am at the nadir like a peahen!
You are green meadows, and
I am an empty desert filled with sands!
You are a bubbling sea, filled with
Innumerable treasures, while I am just
Empty waves dashing on the shores!
You are a shining sun, and
I am an eclipsed moon!
You are a happy moon without blemishes
I am a sorrowful moon howling in the dark!
You are a storm with tempest,
And I am a hot breeze with thin air!”

“Hi! Stop! Stop there, you little brute! I know you are a poet with the skill to match Words; why can’t you add this difference also to your lyrics that,

“You are a man and I am a woman!!!”

“My dear millionaire and commercial princess Nila, the only thing I want to know now is if you are going to hop on my bike or not,”

“No Prem, I am having a customer meet in Taj Hotel today evening...”

“So, please leave this beggar boy Nila, who is not an equal match for you! I am a mismatch! Leave me!” His voice began to rise! Hovering With temperate winds.

‘Leave him mam let him go!’
‘What is this voice message, I am very often hearing, Am I getting mad!’ He looked confused and dreamy!

“Please Prem, come out of your dreamy world... I will give you whatever you want, wealth, health, money, work, happiness and everything in this world; I will lay down everything at your feet; You can sit equally on my side; leave those beach dogs and come to me; I will make you a corporate head; and Commercial Entrepreneur...

I have given you thousands of options, but you are not picking up even a single choice, if you want to become a world-famous director I can show you the entry gate, you are an artist, with tremendous talents of writing stories, dialogues, lyrics, songs and I know you are a good designer and sculptor. You yourself can be a hero with your handsome looks, but please leave those beach dogs”

“Nila, even if you are not coming with me, it’s OK! but I can never leave my beach dogs, I earn sufficiently to feed them!” Nila started laughing incessantly, like jingling bells, saying,

“So, what you earn is sufficient enough to feed your friendly beach dogs!”

“Yes, this bloody beggar is like an orphaned beach dog, but one day this nomadic pauper will also become a multi-millionaire!

I am not revolving around you just for your wealth, money or the companies you own; or for your undeniable enchanting curves you have it beautifully carved all over your body!

But I am after you for your love, passion, affection, friendship and the compassion you show towards all the living things that suffer...”

“Prem dear, still I have all those noble qualities without any change.

But we do have a life in this society, What’s your place in this society? what you are going to be like in your future? After I become your wife, what will be your future task, have you set your goal?

Any aim for your future life and wife???”

But Prem recited the same question,

“Now are you coming with me to Eliot’s beach or not??? Give me an answer!” The punch in his voice roused her anger.

“No, I can’t, I just picked up this cycle gap to meet you, amidst my clients meet! These poems, paintings, drawings, and sand sculptures at the beach will not provide you with wealth and food!”

She increased her grip on his fingers so that he will not escape but Prem recited the same poem, ‘I want to go back to the beach to meet my beach dogs.’

‘Leave him, mam! Let him go!!! That same voice messages! This made Prem nod his head!’

And Nila was not aware of those voice messages inside Prem’s mind! The same blabbering’s like a parrot from Prem irked Nila to the core, which made her pull off her hand in a rip, and shouted at the top of her voice,

“Go away you street mongrel, go and roam with those beach dogs, you son of a beast!” Which made everyone on the street enjoy gleefully their shoutings,

And Prem without another word turned on the ignition key and kick-started his bike and drove down the street with a tremendous velocity, and Nila stood there stupefied on the street by the unexpected turn of events.

Now Prem was sitting on a granite-topped stone bench on Elliot’s beach, Chennai with all the beach mongrels surrounding him and eating milk bikies biscuits supplied by their master.

His heart was swelling with pride and happiness on the dogs relishing with delight their paltry biscuit dinner.

Each dog was of a different breed, with, shapes, shades, dots, size, and colours and they looked diversified in class and creed but they had a single unifying code of conduct, and cooperation, i.e., even if a micro incident took place, they will all unite together as a single mass and start barking in Unison.

They all resembled only on one count that there was sadness etched on their eyes saying, “WE ARE ALL ORPHANED”

Now the sun had gone down the horizon, and the moon had come out of its hole and the time was crawling at a snail’s pace. Prem curved his arms under his head like a pillow; stretched his legs and fixed his eyes on the sky.

By now Nila would have reached her spot, for her client’s meet, he thought. He looked at the full moon hanging overhead.

He knew that soon the moon will be gobbled by the earth as a result of the ‘LUNAR ECLIPSE’ A ‘special celestial phenomenon’ expected to happen soon in the sky. That’s the reason why the beachfront was being crowded with a multitude of people. Sadness filled his heart over his eclipsed life like an eclipsed moon…

It was by the charity of his birth stars that he had a loving family especially an extraordinarily attached mother. Both his parents were Government employees, and he was brought up in a royal atmosphere by their sacrifices.

Some years back, he too was a very proud, well-educated, software engineer who worked as a web designer in an MNC company. If he had wished he could have continued the job as long as he wished.

But his fate did not allow him. With a sound mind, he quit the job on his own wish, and in turn became a wanderer on the beach.

Prem was the only outlier in his family, who once was a jolly-go-lucky guy later became an introvert and a nomadic dog lover roaming the beach sands.

He had all the talents in his kitty but everything was being wasted without a goal in his life.

Prem was brought up with special love and care by his parents. He had two younger sisters with an age difference of two and three getting ready for their marital status. But the only difference was that they very judiciously clung to their jobs after completing their Master’s degree.

All of a sudden without any reason everything changed in his life. He did not know the reason why he renounced all worldly pleasures. But in the midst of this unsavory world, he could feel that special compassion for the beach dogs...!

He was extremely blessed with a lover in Nila. No one can get such a beautiful lass, who had all the delicacies of a woman; and at the same time with a tigerish strength like a man in her business circle.

Her love and compassion for a suffering mother dog brought her closer to him.

Their first meeting was on the same beach, and that too was for the cause of a dog. ‘ARE YOU A DOG LOVER?’ was the question asked by her on their first meet. Now those sweet old memories clouded his mind. His mind started rerunning the whole episode as he lied on the stone bench.

It was also a sultry evening on that day, and the sun was falling down the horizon when Nila came down running on the beach lane, asking him with shock filled eyes,

He looked like a modern angel in her jeans pant and a round neck T-shirt, with a lightweight denim coat cut to her shape was held in her hands, with curls of her hair falling on her forehead flying in the air shaking hands with the blowing sea breeze! His hands were in jitters to arrange those falling drops of hair on her forehead, but simply smiled and gazed at her in wonder!

He did not know her, she looked like an angel with that falling sun, shining like a halo behind the ringlets around her head, falling to her shoulders.

Her face looked a lovely cherub as the full moon lit up her face to golden yellow with red tinges as if she was blushing!!!

“Are you a dog lover? Can you spare a minute and come with me???” That was their first meeting. He glanced at the ‘Damsel in Distress’ standing in front of

He was astonished by her quest, but he hid it in his heart and tried his best not to laugh. continued
