CHAPTER 4 PREM AND HARRY INTO A FANTASY WORLD
“Yes, I Am Harry, open your eyes and see me. He could see some white spongy puddle in front of him which had no structural body; It was having only the outline and shape like that of his Harry his Pomeranian dog. It continued talking to Prem as a bodiless soul.“There are numerous souls around you, swirling in the skies, hovering over your heads, and crawling on the sands of this beach my dear Master, who have left this world with so many unfulfilled desires and wishes like me!”
He felt it was his Harry, “My dear Harry come to me I wish to hold you in my arms and hug you wholeheartedly, and so many years have elapsed since I had you in my arms!” He got up and sat on the slab, but Harry resisted him and said,
“my dear Master Prem, I am not here to dangle from your feet and shoulder or snuggle under your chest or run all over your body fondly, I have come as an errand boy, with a message from my queen Cleopatra, You are wanted in our Dog Land immediately by our Queen! I was following you like a slave when I was your pet, but now it’s your turn to follow me!”
The reply made his heart stop for a moment, and then he righted himself to talk with that bodiless soul, Still, his heart remained in an elevated state and tried very hard to keep his body at equilibrium!
“Hi what is this dear doggy? Do you want to blackmail me emotionally? Are you trying to misuse the love I showered on you? Do I look like a comedian or a circus buffoon! Have you ever heard dogs talking to humans!?” Prem’s eyes got dilated and he just stared at the empty space in front of him.
“No, Boss now I am able to forget those frolicking dances we had between us when I was alive, all those memories etched in my heart have gone in the wind except for a very few precious ones, and that needs a thanksgiving ceremony to my Queen! Now the writ has been served on you from my queen Cleopatra!”
“Are you ridiculing me, Harry, Me being a useless beggar having no work or money, even a dog has the guts to mock at this poor fellow jeering, and teasing,”
“No Prem, you are my Master, please believe me and come with me!”
Now Prem could feel a small nimble hand trying to pull him from his stone seat, he could feel his pet dog Harry in his hands; his hands felt a silky fur sliding under his hands. He was spellbound and felt his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth on that lovely experience and he started blabbering,
“Now I can declare wholeheartedly that you are my Harry because I could feel your soul inside me......
What made your presence in front of me after a lapse of so many years as a bodiless soul. How I am able to feel you and communicate with you even though I couldn’t see your form and figure?”
“That’s my Spirit! My Athma! My soul that you are touching. After my body was crushed under the wheels of the car to a bloody muddy paste, my soul was hovering in the space without any peace. My soul was roaming restlessly with the memories of the past. My unfulfilled desires made my soul strangled to the earth. Just some two years back, I had a pull towards something else new and when I opened my eyes I found that I was flown to my dog’s world! I did not know how I went there, but it's completely a different world! I know I have some umbilical cord connection to that world, but no memories could be revived. I was standing in front of queen Cleopatra, who seemed familiar to me! I got her blessings and prayed for a solution for my restless soul.
She was able to console me like a mother and gave me some advice.
She said, “Harry, you feel very much for all those precious things you have lost in that human world. Your soul is still in search of your master’s love, affection, and friendship... you are moping, craving, pining, and longing for your master! If you want to forget those memories you go to Eliot’s beach in Chennai. There you will see your master! He has become a guardian of many beach dogs. She gave advice like our Roman Goddess ISIS Devi. I will repeat what she said,
“Harry when you were in your master’s house you were like a pampered child. you were always on your master’s lap. You never felt hungry and were always fed with, eggs, biscuits, milk, water, etc., according to time table. You were fed with chicken pieces, mutton bones, dog food like pedigree, and snacks like milk sweets, carrots, cabbages... and all were provided incessantly. You were glutted with artificially man-made food for pet dogs. You were lying on a mattress in your master’s air-conditioned room and you were given shampoo baths regularly. In addition, you were taken to the Doctor for hair cuts, nail cuts, regular vaccinations, etc., etc., You were given supplementary if there were any deficiencies.
The only work you were doing was enjoying your morning strolls and jumping on your master, crawling and dancing all over his body, and his family members shaking your bushy tail as if it was going to break. You were running jumping, jogging, enjoying the whole time running after the butterflies.
Have you ever seen those orphaned beach dogs on the planet earth! Go and see them suffering without food, water, and shelter. “After seeing you and all the orphaned dogs in this seashore I have got the peace of my mind. Now I have learned what is joy and sorrow, what it is to be hungry and thirsty without any shelter.
After that, I went back and learned all magical and mystical arts, and how to use supernatural forces. I learned the art of magical construction and many spells to help in times of need. One day my queen called me and said,
“Now you are ready for your earthly adventure. You go to Elliot’s beach and roam with your Master and learn more. On the first month of this year’s full moon day when Sun, moon, Earth, and Mars come in a straight line, you have to bring your master to me, and It is important that you bring him before this celestial phenomenon takes place!
When the white pearl in your hand starts shining... you will know that it was the invitation for you to come with your master! Though no one is allowed to enter our world I am giving free visas for you two! Now everything has changed in our world too! After taking a long breath she told me
“You come to our world with your master on that Bloody Day!” Harry showed a white pearl which was sparkling in his hands with a glow and was dazzling, and Prem closed his eyes on its gleam as he became numb for a moment with a sparkling shock.
“Now it’s the time for you to come with me on this Day of LUNAR ECLIPSE’ called ‘SUPER WOLF BLOOD RED MOON. “That was the order I received from my queen.”
“Harry, what is this? You are playing like a wizard doing witchcraft... Once upon a time, you were my pet dog and we were very good friends. Now I am a grown-up man. Please leave me from this game of children. You mock, laugh, and tease me to your heart’s content but spare me of your unbelievable adventures. Cleopatra, Caesar, king-queen, invitation all these things seem to be too much mockery on me. You know soon my mom will search for me!” Though Harry’s heart went for his mother it did not relent. Harry continued persuading Prem to make him accept the queen’s invitation.
“No boss I cannot leave this place without you. I believe my queen. She had helped me in my distress to come out of my pain and sorrow.
Now my soul feels to be bestowed with rays of peacefulness. I have promised my queen, I cannot go back on my words. If you desist to come with me, then I have to grab your jeans pants and pull you through the ocean currents and waves. You know very well how strong my teeth were. You will not wish to stand nude in front of my queen!” Really Prem knew the strength of his pet dog’s teeth and he laughed as he recalled those scenes.
As Harry started jumping and running like his old pet! Prem could not resist following it! “Hi! Hi Harry! You mischievous child!” He began to run after him as it jumped and trotted like an Arabian horse into the sea, and Prem too was automatically pulled into the sea by a very big wave, as it rolled over and consumed him. Harry was swimming very naturally as if he were a fish.
Now he was urged to go after his lovely pet dog and his mind convinced him saying, ‘Let me go and see if everything was a bluff played by Harry’ or just his mind game!’ Still, he was not able to fathom out how he was able to talk with Harry through his feelings.
When both started swimming in unison Prem started to mumble with a sad note saying, “It would have been better if Nila my lover had accompanied us, She is the Real Princess of the Sea and she knows very well about the different facets of the sea. She will mope and pine if she fails to see me even for a day!” On hearing those clattering, Harry giggled and said,
“Are you talking about your lover Prem? She seems to be a very nice and passionate woman of this era! I am seeing you both for the past three months; I even enjoyed your petty quarrels and have copied some lyrics and conversations in my mind so that they could be quoted to my future lover.
Again he heard all those words in a husky voice as if the dog was talking to him., Harry continued, “Prem I am advised to bring only you, but when you meet our queen you can request if you can make your lover Nila also your accomplice in this project! W...h...a...t project Harry? But Harry asked Prem something else... To be continued
“Now can you see a boat there rolling on the waves waiting for us. You just swim along with me or climb on me and I will take you to the boat!” which made Prem laugh to his heart’s content.
“Why do you laugh like a villain Prem?”
“Hi, Harry, have you forgotten the fact that I only taught you swimming when you were a puppy!” Prem shouted at Harry as they approached the boat. I even remember the day how you shivered in my hands when I threw you into the swimming pool. You were dancing in the water like a frenzied little kitten.”
“Almost all my memories are deleted Prem; now shall we start swimming towards the boat?” With that question Harry pulled him along with the tide.
He felt shell shocked at the unexpected pull of the waves, His body took some time to adjust to the icy cold water of the sea, which pricked him like a needle, but soon his body temperature got neutralised and he began to float easily on water and now the swimming became very easy for him and his mind began to trust Harry.
He knew swimming very well, but this was the first time he was swimming in an open sea under the rollicking waves. At that point of time he was not aware that this sea voyages were going to be his routine business in his upcoming future.
Everything that happened on that night looked weird, magical and eerie. But he was not able to excuse himself for his idiotic act of trusting the soul of a dog even though it was his pet which was already dead and gone. He did not say those words aloud but Harry replied to his thoughts immediately,
“Hi, you stupid boy, it is better to believe a dead dog than to believe an youthful, capricious woman!”
“You bloody Harry, if you ever mock at my angel Nila, then I will kill and entomb you under this ocean bed. You will soon see your watery grave!”
“But you cannot kill me again in this birth boss, You may try to give me rebirth, but not a death warrant, Prem do you love that jeans pant lady very much?”
“M,,m,,” Prem said it with a shaky laughter!
“Hmm!... Do you love her more than your pet Harry!” Prem again laughed mirthlessly!
“M! Prem even though you have matured so beautifully physically, and mentally, your sweetest laughter has not changed a bit from your boyish days.”
“Harry, when I was a boy wearing those half trousers, you were my treasure! I wouldn’t have exchanged you for anything with anyone. But now I am a grown up man wearing pants, and won’t the whole world laugh at me if I roam with a dog like a lover?”
“Don’t lie to me Prem, I have sneaked into your conversations on the sea sands along with the sea breeze; Once, I even heard you saying to your lover face to face, to free you from her entanglements. You even told her you were a mismatch for her!” Harry barked thinking that it was a laughter.
“Those are all sweet nothings between lovers, its all in the game of love, you cannot understand the real meaning of it Harry! We lovers always speak in contradictory terms to make our love even stronger. Don’t believe all those titbits between lovers.”
“I have a solicitation to make Prem, I have a desire which was not fulfilled in my previous birth, I want to have a lover like your Nila, who will love me whole heartedly, I want to make a rebirth in your house like the same Pomeranian dog, and you find a nice pair for me so that I too will understand what is loving in its real sense. She should map my image filled with silky white fur coat and a rosy nose tip!”
On hearing those wishes Prem laughed hilariously which made the sea water to enter his trachea and he started coughing, as Harry patted his master’s head with its paw and Prem answered him,
“You can put your supplication to your queen herself” He gave the same ale in the same chalice to Harry!
“Do not tease my queen Prem; even now she is the princess in the heart of our emperor Caesar. She is an wonderful mother who could understand everyone’s desire.
If I complete this task successfully, I will be bestowed with gifts, and I will ask my Hermi as a reward for completing this project!”
“You have become an wisest dog Harry!” And saying that he opened his eyes widely to see a snow white yacht gleaming in the sea.
The night was becoming more and more magical, and the yacht looked spreading its wings on both sides like an enormous eerie bird, calling Prem in an mesmerized voice saying,
“Come my dear son!” and he saw a sailor in the front and was floored to the fathomless ocean as the sailor resembled his lover NILA.
“Prem don’t get carried away by that lady, Its only a mirage to attract you, She is there only to mesmerize you and keep you in a good and hilarious mood!” then he asked Prem to jump into the boat like him.
Harry hit him on his head with his paw, saying,
“Just jump into that boat like me, and Harry very casually jumped into the boat. But Prem was perplexed,
‘Can he do it without falling into that fathomless ocean?’ His brain began to pump more adrenalin in fear, but he remembered the scene how he taught Harry to walk up and down the staircase without falling when it was only a two month old puppy then. He used his hands to show the little Harry how to take every step down the stair case. Though it showed reluctance in the beginning, it learnt that art too quickly.
Now he has to believe this little rascal, whom he had taught, and followed him into the boat by putting all his faith and trust on his pet.
“Well done Prem!” He patted on his back as he landed safely in the boat. And Nila disappeared from the boat like an evaporating dew drop. To be continued
